But with power steering I thought it was a small price to pay for having the lokka and the price saving over an airlocker. The only thing I will say is that it did make the steering slightly heavier when (AND ONLY WHEN) in 4x4. People whinge about the noise and clunking etc.I never had that. The instructions are very strict on the measurements (can't remember what they are now) and if you get it wrong it won't work/operate properly (as designed). That's a guess until i can test it out.I echo what fj40z says, on the road it's not even noticeable.Alot of people seem to knock the 4WD Systems Lokka but I had one (front of 75 series) and I rekocn the key to it working properly is the installation. So, with the center diff unlocked you can ride trails in low range and not have the tires scrub around every turn.Just before you get into an obstacle, push the CDL and the rear locks up fully. After that, let the wheel stands begin!!I'm thinking, just a guess here as of now, but with the CDL unlocked i don't think side hill slopes would be as big of an issue because i don't think it would fully lock up. If all 4 are evenly planted i would imagine it would lock up). See my earlier thread about a selectable aussie. With the center diff unlocked, the t-case does not supply enough torque to the rear to fully lock it up (this is if there is a front tire spinning. IMHO i thought it was easier than on steve's semi float.Just remove the drive shaft, pull the chunk, follow hayes's write-up (FYI, i also did not have to replace the thrust washer as i was still in spec after 210,000 miles), button it back up and within a few hours you have a auto locker in the rear. Here is my take on it for those 95 and up guys. With the pin 7 mod, this locker truly is 'almost' selectable. Today was my first experience wheeling with a locker, we went to Uwharrie National Forest, where I have wheeled about 4 or 5 times in the past and I couldnt believe what a difference it was. With the exception of very slow hard turns like in a parking lot or gas station the locker is not even noticeable. I drove the 80 to work and school everyday this past week just to see how the on-road manners were and I am very impressed with the streetability. After struggling to install it first (my own stupidity) we took everything back out and started over after realizing what I was doing wrong the install was a breeze and only took about a hour and a half. My 93 has a semi-float rear end so the install was done from the rear inspection cover. Im sure most of what of this has probably been covered before but after installing it earlier this week and then wheeling with it the first time earlier today I thought I would do a little recap with my thought on it so far.

Ok so I thought I would post up a little review of my Aussie Locker.
